Despite a transition in leadership this winter, our volunteers have kept our programs strong, continued to push on our vision for what Marietta could be, and have grown our impact by leaps and bounds.
In the first six months of this year alone, Marietta Main Street has hosted over 38 events, 55 committee meetings, and 76 partnership meetings with business owners, area community leaders, nonprofits, etc.
Our Executive Director was hosted at six different speaking engagements in both West Virginia and Ohio, including two conferences, two training sessions, and two presentations.
Our volunteers have invested over $29, 623 into revitalization with 1,200+ hours of time. And, proudly, the return on investment for each dollar donated is quadrupled to $4.71 of impact.
Our Public Art Committee created a comprehensive plan for art in downtown Marietta, our Business Enhancement Committee launched a downtown farmers market, our Design Committee hosted a community-wide survey and installed a gorgeous set of flowers over the Putnam Street Bridge, and our Promotions Committee has collectively brought over 3,000 people into our Historic Downtown Marietta through events.
As you can tell, Marietta Main Street has had a very busy 2016 thus far, and although the calendar is still full with events like an upcoming Historic Preservation Series set to kick off in October, 2016's last installment of our Merchants & Artists Walk in November, Small Business Saturday, our Evening Christmas Parade, the Moonlight Savings Sale, and our Holiday Loft Tours, we are already finalizing in full our 2017 Calendar of Events.
With that being said, if you don't know about our mission or events, there's no time like the present! We have a full stock of programs and initiatives - a stock that keeps growing - all for the sake of strengthening the place we love the most, Downtown Marietta, Ohio! Check out the slides below - a presentation we use when invited to share about who we are and how area groups can get involved - to learn about what we've been doing this year and a little bit of what we will be doing next year!
