Main Street Hiring Executive Director
The Marietta Main Street Board of Directors is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director of Marietta Main Street.

Job Title: Executive Director
Reports to: President of the Board
Supervises: Paid Staff, Interns
Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000
Status: Full-time Employee, Exempt, Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Required Travel: Minimal, for training & development
The Executive Director of Marietta Main Street is an organized, dynamic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit capable of functioning effectively in an independent work environment. Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, committees, and the community, the Executive Director is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Main Street organization, focusing on the revitalization of downtown Marietta, Ohio and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and objectives.
The responsibilities of the Executive Director include oversight and management of all internal and external operations of Marietta Main Street, inclusive of but not limited to: communications & marketing, fundraising and grant writing, community & economic development, event and program coordination, volunteer management, small business support, and strategic planning.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and manage an annual work plan and budget.
Support the leadership and development of the Board in partnership with the Executive Committee.
Ensure all programs, events, initiatives, and efforts of Marietta Main Street, both internal and external, are well-managed and executed to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization.
Oversee all administrative aspects of the organization, including document retention, sound financial management, and monthly reporting to Heritage Ohio.
Create and maintain strategic partnerships and relationships, in support of the organization’s mission, including but not limited to City of Marietta administration and elected officials, Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, Marietta-Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Southeastern Ohio Port Authority, and other key stakeholders in the revitalization of downtown Marietta.
Act as the face and voice of the organization, representing its interests and advocating for its goals.
Manage volunteers and coordinate the active engagement of Main Street committees, including Public Art, Design, Organization, Economic Vitality, Promotions, and Hometown Holidays
Coordinate the development of resources for the financial sustainability and fiscal growth of Marietta Main Street, including donations, partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and campaigns.
Maintain ongoing communication and outreach with downtown businesses and property owners.
Advocate for Marietta’s historic assets and educate the community about historic preservation, historic preservation strategies, and historic preservation opportunities.
Responsible for the overall recruitment, management, and evaluation of any paid staff and interns.
Maintain a strong digital presence, including social media, e-newsletters, and the website.
Conduct other duties and tasks as defined by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have:
The ability to balance day-to-day operations alongside big-picture, visionary thinking; project management experience is a must
A combination of experience in community and economic development, marketing and communications, public relations, business administration and development, public policy and administration, organizational management, downtown revitalization, and/or civic engagement
A track record in community building and collaborative partnerships
Working knowledge of downtown revitalization and the positive community impact of a strong downtown, thriving small businesses, and preserved historic assets
Experience working with Boards of Directors and volunteer committees
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and media relations
Proficiency in managing multiple projects at once
Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Canva, Google Drive, and QuickBooks.

Exceptionally qualified candidates will have:
Experience in fundraising and grant writing
Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
The ability to manage volunteers across multiple efforts
Experience working with City government
Experience forging strategic partnerships in small, rural communities
Digital media management skills, including social media (Facebook, Instagram), website (Squarespace), and e-newsletters (MailChimp)
Understanding of successful marketing and event planning strategies
