This committee works to help downtown Marietta look its best. Focusing on the beautiful historic buildings is just part of it. We must create an inviting atmosphere through attractive window displays, adequate parking areas, building improvements, street furniture, signs, sidewalks, street lights, and landscaping. All of these elements convey a positive message of Downtown Marietta and what it has to offer. Design goals also include encouraging good maintenance practices to the building owners, encouraging appropriate new construction, developing historic design guidelines, and long-term planning. The Design Committee meets on every 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at Marietta Main Street.
